Segmenta Factory Opens in Almaty Region as Part of a Food Cluster

12 October 2026

The official opening of a new factory operated by Segmenta, a modern international manufacturer of food flavourings, seasonings and breading systems, took place at the large-scale food cluster of the Shin-Line Group. The launch marks a key milestone in Shin-Line Group’s strategic project to establish a food cluster in Kazakhstan, aimed at attracting up to KZT 300 billion in foreign investment, deepening raw material processing, increasing exports and creating high-tech jobs.

The cluster has been specifically designed to meet the stringent processing requirements of different product categories, develop infrastructure for high value-added manufacturing and strengthen the country’s food security.

Segmenta’s new facility occupies an area of 3,000 square metres, has an annual production capacity of up to 8,000 tonnes and is equipped with its own warehouse complex, ensuring convenient logistics and efficient distribution. The factory specialises in liquid flavourings for sweet and savoury applications, as well as complex dry-blended seasonings and breading systems.

The complex also houses its own research and development facility — an Innovation Centre equipped with a sensory testing room, a chromatograph, an ageing cabinet, and dedicated culinary and beverage development studios.

Production relies on a global raw material portfolio comprising more than 3,000 ingredients sourced from trusted suppliers across dozens of countries, including France, Italy, Germany, India and the United States. This enables the development of unique, customised solutions for manufacturers of beverages, dairy products, confectionery, bakery goods, snacks and processed meat products.

The development of the food cluster brings together advanced agro-industrial technologies and international expertise, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for domestic and international food manufacturers.

“The development of the food cluster represents a strategic contribution to the implementation of national priorities, including the modernisation of the agro-industrial complex, deeper raw material processing and enhanced investment attractiveness of the country. We are attracting foreign investment to build modern industrial and logistics infrastructure.

The opening of the Segmenta factory in Baiserke is a clear example of how a high-tech manufacturing facility producing high value-added products can be established within an integrated cluster. Through cooperation, the adoption of advanced international expertise and the localisation of key ingredient production, we are not only stimulating regional development and creating new jobs, but also bringing Kazakhstan’s food industry to the international stage.”

The opening of the Segmenta facility strengthens cooperation between domestic and international processing companies, laying a solid foundation for Kazakhstan to become a leading agro-industrial hub in Central Asia.
